Post-editing of Machine Translation

Post-editing of machine translation (MT) is possibly one of the oldest forms of human-computer interaction in translation However, it is only recently that there has been a surge of interest in post-editing of MT outputs. Given the recent substantial improvements of the quality of MT and the increasing demand for translations, post-editing is an ever-increasing practice in the translation industry. The aims of this workshop are: i) To identify the basic concepts of post-editing MT; ii) To present general post-editing guidelines used by the industry. iii) To identify different types and levels of post-editing; iv) To reflect on the concept of quality in localization; v) To work with two different post-editing workbenches. The workshop will focus on hands-on activities (language pairs: English to Slovenian / Slovenian to English).
